So, I was browsing teh web when I hear a doorbell. Open up - and there's this hot chick saying we do demo carpet cleaning blah-blah, yada-yada, we can do your stairs and landing for free. So, I said: sure, go ahead. I was under impression, they are a cleaning company doing the demo of their work, and I needed to call cleaners anyway.

So she calls in the team, and two guys bring a Kirby vac. cleaner in the box, set it up and start cleaning, while trying to sell me $1500 vacuum cleaner. That's right. Fifteen hundred for a fvcking motor with good sucktion and a bunch of plastic attachments. I knew, they aren't going to leave, so why not let them clean the carpets? Luckily, they left a junior guy with me to clean up the carpets, while the senior guy went on to the neighbors to sell Kirby to them.

The junior guy was pretty bad at selling, but pretty good at cleaning. So in the end I had clean carpets and about 1.5 hrs of lost time. Not too bad. I offered the guy some candy as a consolation in the end :)

But I must say: I was impressed by what this vac. cleaner did with my carpets.

The funny part was that they advertised it as anti-allergen vac, 'we use hepa filter, ani-allergen shampoo, yada-yada', and the junior vacuuming guy had an allergy to cats. And I have a cat in the house. By the end of the cleaning, he was one sorry mofo - sneezing and crying :)

I'd tell you that that was a mark against your immortal soul and you were bound for hell, but door-door salesmen don't count as people, so you're good.
