I just had an interesting conversation

I picked up some parts at the local Toyota dealer and a few people commented on my car - I talked to a couple for a while, and one mentioned that he has an '05 Dodge (pretty sure it's an SXT4).

He told me that it's twin turbo (he installed the second one), with headers and dual 4.5" exhaust. It redlines at 10,000rpm, and since he's running 40psi (20psi per turbo!), he can do 100mph in second gear.

He said he likes drifting, and used to have an awesome drift car. You guessed it - Honda Civic.

At least he didn't ask if my MR2 was front wheel drive..

Somewhere around the twin turbo comment i went  Then the 100mph in 2nd gear made it abundantly clear.

Well about none of that makes sense. :p

First, dual exhaust on an i4, ahahahhaah.

And let me know at which multiple of 10k he's revving at to build turbo pressure with the dual 4.5's, lol.

Good God, that's gotta be like 25 HP per decal!

No hate for the SRT-4, but hate for idiots that think if they throw a few "car words" around, their ridiculous story is immediately true. I had a guy in a Cavalier try to race me yesterday - dual 4-5" exhaust tips (on an inline engine, sweet...), bolt-on sheet metal spoiler, illegal tint, etc. When he caught up at the next light he rolled down his (crank-up) window and shouted something about "turbo lag" and "kick my ass if something-something" and "breaking it in." I paced him at the light, heard him shifting around 6k, and never once heard a turbo spool up...

You can build boost with an open downpipe, but 4.5" is a tad excessive regardless. :p

Apparently it's so loud it'll give you a headache, and he's been stopped four times for excessive noise. Classy.

I LOLed IRL.

Last fun I had was a G37 with large custom chrome rims and fresh temp tags still. Typical dumb ass with a backwards baseball cap blasting rap from his Walmart portable subwoofer. He got a ear full of blower with his window down as I reeled in the car I gave him (me rolling out from the light to not blow the tires off) and then put tankers on him as I wound out 2nd to 7 grand and coasted 3rd. :D

I have a JLT 5" diameter intake tube with 12" filter, billet hood vents (pretty much open holes in the hood) and deleted hood liner (got wet too many times from rain/washing and started falling apart). Zero sound insulation at the hood with a 2.76" pulley, so the blower whine is loud, esp in the cold night air. Not as loud as the KB was... sigh.

It was funny because at first he came up behind me and pulled a ricer fly by when I was just minding my own business doing the speed limit and didn't see him coming, and I didn't care to speed after him... I'll mess around from a stop and stuff but I don't do any 100+ shit on public streets, esp. at night. But as karma would have it, just after he pulled that stunt and I was about to let him go, the light just a few blocks ahead changed to red and the car in my lane turned off. It looked like he was thinking about running it the way he tapped on the brakes, sped up, then stopped when he realized he wouldn't make it. I giggled like a school girl when I saw him stop.

Rice would mess with me big time when I had a slow car (and their car was faster regardless of anything they think they did to it), but I hardly ever see rice when I have the 03 Cobra out.

I hear G35, 3-series, Stangs, 350, and any type of owner do the same thing. People always say they have a faster car then they do. Doesn't bother me though. I don't even race my car any more. Wastes too much gas and don't want to get caught and get my car crushed.

I almost forgot about the "Jreddy" parts he said he had, too! I wish I could've recorded it..

LOL

With headers? And pistons and all that, right? LMFAO

I guess you could have headers with a remote mount turbo like I've seen with some of the Corvette/F body turbo setups.

On a rotary? :D

Hey I don't know anything about GT-R Mustangs, just saying.

But yeah there is a exhaust header on rotary engines, particularly 2 to 1 on 2+ rotor engines :) The joke is having headers on a rotary. Also, when people are talking about headers, it usually implies long tubes. But with turbos, the benefits of long tubes are completely negated (turbo destroys scavenging and pressure wave tuning) and they lose more heat than a log manifold better suited for turbos.

Hence why headers on a rotary with turbos = teh lawlz :D

Camera guy: is that a high capacity blinker fluid reservoir?
Owner: yeah it got two of them.
