I've seen a lot of problems relating to SETI CLI interfering with other programs (i.e. Corel, Outlook, etc.). I was just at the SetiHide site and saw this feature:

<< 6.1.3 The "halt_if_running.txt" file
Enter path and filename of any application that is supposed to pause the SETI client. Recommended for disk defraggers, scan disk utilities or even taskmgr.exe on NT... ;-)
e.g.:
c:\windows\defrag.exe
c:\windows\scandskw.exe
>>

Would this help the problems? If it would I think we could really boost production.

Does it totally halt the client if one of those apps is running? Many of my Outlook2000 users leave their PC's on 24/7 (as I instructed 😉 ) and leave their Email open the whole time. In fact, I do it myself.

I think it does 🙁.

Hmmm....I know for a fact that the service install is not affected by Outlook, as I'm running it on this and many other PC's. Also, my client install didn't seem to be affected by it as well, but I'm running Outlook 2002 (OfficeXP).

If you have problems, run the GUI. It's better than nothing. 🙂 You should even be able to run the GUI all the time without problems.

The Outlook problem is this: Outlook halts and acts like a spaz while running the Cli. I have merely grown used to it.
I keep typing if I am creating a new message and it usually catches up (I don't type very fast).

Outlook.

Don't feel bad. It does the same thing to me with Eccp. I think outlook2000 is just a poorly behaving entity.
