from the greek place downstairs. slow cooked so it was really tender, with tomatoes and sweet onions, it was so good... with great roasted potatoes and yellow rice for $6 flat. if anyone's ever heard of cinnamon chicken or has a recipe, please post it here or pm me. i must know how to make this.

Never had that, but I'm finding out that the Greeks know a thing or two about food. Especially the use of cinnamon in their dishes. I had musaka (sp?) a few weeks ago, which is a beef casserole flavored with cinnamon, that was pretty good too.

Moussaka is kind of like a Greek shephard's pie. I love it. It's also more commonly made with lamb.
I find it intriguing how the cinnamon in Greek dishes manages to stay subtle and not beat the crap out of the other flavors in the food. :)

If you think cinnamon in meat dishes is weird but good, try greek meatballs like youvarlakia or keftedes. Minty meatballs!

Cinnamon is only good with lots of sugar and desserts. I usually have a breakfast of 600ml of Chocolate milk and Hazelnut powder but today I used cinnamon. It was quite " different".

mint + meat = a good combination (especially lamb)
