Ok guys, got the parts in and just finished building the rig. Here are the parts:

1 GB PC3200 (2X512) Dual Channel

Athlon 64 3500+

Asus A8V Deluxe

My old system was a Athlon 2800XP, 1GB of PC2700 Kingston Value RAM, and a 6800 Ultra. Needless to say, I carried the VC over to this new rig.

I will post benches soon (I will run them after posting this). But, besides 3Dmark03/05, what else is a good benching tool?

What kind of an increase do you think I will see? BTW, the reason for the upgrade is because the mobo (MSI K7N2) was going kaput.

-=*UPDATE*=-

As you can see, I've added my stats from 3Dmark from the new build. I know that the benchmark is highly GPU dependant, but I must admit that I was expecting a better showing from the Athlon 64. Does this look correct guys?

3DMark03
Athlon 2800 XP @ 2005 MHz + 1GB PC2700 + 6800 Ultra = 11515

Athlon64 3500 @ 2203 MHz + 1GB PC3200 + 6800 Ultra = 12192

3DMark05
Athlon 2800 XP @ 1976 MHz + 1GB PC2700 + 6800 Ultra = 4200

Athlon64 3500 @ 2203 MHz + 1GB PC3200 + 6800 Ultra = 5127

I would also like to check out some other benches to run, any suggestions? Is SiSoft Sandra still good?

That's SLIGHTLY low. I can hit about 5000 in 05 with my 6800GT @ 370/1000, and when I bring it up to Ultra speeds I get around 5300.

A few things you can try are to get the 7.1.x.x beta drivers. They gave me a 300 point boost in 05. Also try OCing your CPU, @ 2.6ghz you should get a 50 - 100 point boost.

How safe is it to OC that CPU with stock equipment?
