I just got the Logitech G5 Gaming mouse...

I swear, I never really understood the saying that Gaming drives the PC market untill I started playing BF2... since then, I've upgraded my Keyboard (zboard) my ram (1gb to 2gb) my Proc (2800+ to 3700+) and now my mouse! (intellimouse explorer optical to G5)


As for the mouse, :thumbsup: excellent controll, I'm much more effective @ pwning n00bs!

The G5 is awesome...I went from a MX510 to the G5, it's so much more stable and accurate it's not even funny.

hehehe, nice choice on the upgrades! I have a mx1000 and it's great too. I bet I could still kick your butt in bf2 though...

I recently went from a MX1000 to a G5.

G5 is great, make sure you grab the firmware update for it.

I have the G5 and love it..but I don't game much anymore. It's just a great mouse. It's probably the FIRST Logitech mouse that I could actually stand to use. Pretty much all the others had flaws that I couldn't stand.

So what weights did you put in? I put in all the heavy ones...I like a heavier mouse.

did the ram upgrade make a huge difference? Im running a 3700 and 6800GT...

I'm still expirementing, I put all the heavy ones in to start off, and I really like that, I might try some other combos tho

That's funny, because I did the opposite. I went from a G5 to a MX1000 and I love it.

BestBuy recently had the G5 for $49.99, I grabbed mine then.

Best part is my MX1000 died, I sold the replacement for ~$45 (yay for new in box replacements) plus the old base for $10.

I had my MX1000 for over a year, I would have gone for a G7 but I decided that wireless just wasn't that important to me (plus I always forgot to charge the damn thing & had to keep a corded mouse around just to make sure I didn't go without). The G7 would have solved that problem of course but it just wasn't worth the extra money to have the wireless.

I'm not a gamer at all, I just like a good mouse. Running high resolution displays with mice that can't track fast = sucky.

I picked up an MX518 and a Saitek Eclipse keyboard last week, so much nicer than the junk I was using but I can tell im going to wear the foot pads off this mouse quick.
