I just lost a good bit of money on ebay last week when buying a laptop. Im talking to police & attorney's about the sellers information. I paypalled the money, but the seller never sent the computer!

Has this ever happened to any of you guys?

I have every bit of information on the guy, name/address/age/school/parents/paypal/email/cellphone. and all the transactions are recorded.

What is my best solution?

Here is a tip. Don't use ebay in the future. It become nothing but a scam (some will argue that it has always been that way)/

Might have gotten scammed on Amazon..dude hasn't shipped my Ti-89 in over a month:| Dude didn't even respond:| (the shipping period said it would ship by January 29th at the absolute LATEST)

And to think I waited an eternity to upgrade from a ti-83 after having done most of my math by hand (ti-83 was so limited for me:()
I sent in a complaint for Amazon...but alas, the term is already what, 4 weeks in? :(

Amazon has always provided me with excellent service so I guess this will put it to the test (technically it was one of their vendors that fvked me over)

*slaps jaredpace's hand away as he tries to lower the volume on my rant*

yes i've had conversations with the guy on aim where he says "hahah is screwed you" lol - he is a 18yr old college kid, new turn of events:

I called his mom & dad, hey paypaled me back a refund, when it clears i will take the money, and do a chargeback on my inital payment to him.

So your going to take his parents money and then take even more back? thats not right.

Amazon will always go with the buyer 100%. If you file an A-Z claim and they can't prove that you received it, you will get your money back.

Yep, grats on being an even bigger douchebag, scamming both the kid and his parents.

I've stopped using eBay completely. If I can't find it at an online vendor or deal with someone directly (craigslist style) I will pay full price at a B&M store before using eScam again.

man, I don't know if you guys have horrendously shitty luck or don't use due diligence or what

in 522 feedback (who knows how many transactions), I've gotten scammed once. It was promptly refunded to me via UPS insurance.

I hope that when you talk to the police again you mention this.

You are just as bad, if not worst, than this guy.

This thread might be useful information to the people that are looking at your FS/T threads. I for one wouldn't want to deal with you knowing this.

No, I think he said what he meant.

Added to my do not trade list.

I will do whatever is the best advice... I was told to do a chargeback here in the first advice.

I definitely don't want a reputation as a bad trader. Also, I was the one that got screwed here, i didn't screw the other guy. I sent him money for a computer on ebay, and he never sent the computer.

You do a chargeback in order to get the money back that you are owed. If his parents send you your money back, then you aren't owed anything except maybe an apology.

If they parents sent you the money, do not do the chargeback, or cancel it if you have already started the process.

No i havent' done a chargeback, however that was the initial plan. After advertising the situation on the "poker forums" where this ebay seller was a member, a lot of the people on the forum started asking questions about his honesty & he agreed to refund the money into my paypal, plus an extra ammount for all the small fees and charges...

I still have to wait about 4 days for it to compete & verify in my bank account. what a hassle.

What do you guys recommend?
