Got my yard stuff out to mow my grass - put my gas tank on my driveway. Mowed the back yard, came to the front to get gas and someone took it! It wasn't even full - like, just enough for one more mow :confused:

I live in a townhouse - I just keep it on my patio in my back yard when not in use. I take the stuff out when I want to use it, not expecting anyone to steal the crap from my DRIVEWAY :eek:

A couple years ago I was leaving a Fourth of July cookout at my friends house around 1 or 2 in the morning. About a quarter of the way home I immediatly felt the urge to drop some kids off at the pool and there was no way I was going to make it home. I pulled over at a 24 hr grocery store and went in to make my drop-off.

When I came back out, I noticed a woman quickly walking away from my car carrying a gas can. When I got back into the car, I swore I could smell gasoline, like she had tried to siphon from my tank and spilled some. She can't have gotten much even if she did siphon it out of my tank - I wasn't in the store very long at all.

You need to lock your gas input dudes.

Oh, and occasionally you'll have a chance to get a gas can free after rebate. Take advantage when those opportunities arise. Put soap in one, be sure to label your other gas can so you know which one to actually use. Then leave the soap one out whenever you mow your lawn.

to those without locks on their gas tanks on their cars, get one, a locked gas tank is a pita to get into

thats one of the perks we have, no yardwork, they do it all for us! (they better at $180 a month!)
