This really pisses me off...I bought a Rockford Fosgate 360.6 amp rated 834 watts, supposed to be the older silver and gold series, but I just got it this morning and theres no doubt that this amp has been painted to be silver and gold. Then looking at the sellers feedback, he recently purchased another 360.6, the grey ones. I'm willing to bet that he bought that amp(for about $100 less) and painted it up silver and gold and said it was 834 watts. I'm going to e-mail him to see if I can get a refund, but if he doesnt reply or says "sucks to be you" etc, what should I do? I really wanna get this resolved ASAP as its over a $300 purchase...Thanks in advance.

Do you have the url to the amp itself? (Maybe he had some sort of disclaimer or something)

And have you checked the serial numbers and everything to see if it is indeed the wrong one? (Or you could take it to CarToys or a car audio specialist and have them test it)

how did you pay for it? I believe postal money orders have some sort of fraud protection, Paypal does too, but its shaky at best. If you used credit card and paypal, you probably have some recourse. Of course Ebay has fraud protection too, but I've never had to use any of this stuff.

Well, for one thing, hopefully you have his address, you could always go there and beat his ass.

Yea, here are the URLS.

<a target=new href="http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=1244174210[/i] >>

[L=The one I believe he bought, repainted and sold to me]http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&amp;item=1235831120">Auction I won</a>

He also claimed that he was going to be including the origional receips, but It didnt come with them. What I really wish he had included was the Birth Certificate, which woulda said the actualy wattage and hopefully the serial # so I can compare it to this amp...

He did state it would include the original receipt and certificate - it didn't come with it, therefore breaching his end.

<< Does the birth certificate match up and everything? >>

Well from the looks of it, he didn't live up to his end of the bargain. He didn't include that vital data sheet for verifying that this was indeed the same part. I'd say contact him and ask for it. I'd be a little peeved if this happened to me too. If nothing pans out with contacting this guy (cuz ebay says that seller is responsible), then you might find some recourse in fraud protection.

Good luck

Yea...it all makes sense. He must have bought the other one, painted it gold and silver and claimed that its 834 watts for some reason...I hope this guy answers his e-mails and such, if not then im not too sure what to do...I sent em a postal money order and I still have the receipts for that. Thanks for all the help guys.

Good thing you still have your money order receipt, if this is indeed a fraud, you can present your receipt and get your money back, but it's gonna take time.

Now I KNOW that its the one he bought from the other guy for $195. On the box I received it in, it still has the other guys return address on it, which happens to be the same as the guy that was selling the 360.6 amp that the seller bought. It all makes sense now. He bought a gray series for 195, painted it gold and silver and claimed that it was 834 watts(I still dont know why). I'm going to attempt to contact him and see what happens. I highly doubt that this amp is 834 watts, why would he paint it etc etc if it was? Thanks again for all the help..I really hope he gives me a refund.

ICSVortex,

Looks like he saw a chance to pull a fast one, and he did just that. I bet you're going to hear &quot;sucks to be you&quot; from him via email (if you hear at all). I'd request his phone number, and call it up, asking for &quot;Mr. Lastname&quot; If it's a kid, his parents will answer, and you can talk to them about it. If its not a kid, you'll be talking to him.

Save that ebay page. They're deleting them fairly quick now, and it might be a while before you need it.

Good luck!

Yea...only reason we bought this on e-bay is that its a discontinued model, all the new ones suck...I've already got another 360.6 but this one according to the seller is rated 834 watts...alot more than my other one. I didnt bother asking for a pic because he said it was only 2 months old (looks like a few years old tho) and even If I had, I wouldnt have been able to tell that it was painted.

Ok, I sent a few e-mails and got some replys:

Heres the E-Mail I sent to him
Michael,
I received the amp this morning, and am very disapointed. First off, you said that you would include the origional receipt, which isnt there. I can clearly tell that this amp has been painted. What really gets me is that I saw that you purchased another 360.6 from somone in Washington for $195, and on the box I received it in, the return address is from that same guy. I believe that this amp is infact the one you bought for $195 and painted it gold and silver(paint job didnt come out very good BTW) I dont know where the whole 834 watt thing came in, but I would either like the origonal birth certificate if it has the serial # on it and Ill check them to make sure they match up, and the origional receipt, or a full refund. Please let me know ASAP.

Heres what I received:
Sorry i forgot to ship the receipt and i didn't know u wanted the bench
tests????, and the amp was painted by a friend b/c it was originally the dull
gray w/ the dark grey end caps and i preferred the gold endcaps and the
aluminum color paint b/c my car was the champagne color it matched nicely
when the trunk was open. Have you hooked up the amp yet? I believe you will
be quite impressed by all that this can push w/ such great power. If your
concerned w/ any operations as well w/ it please take it to any stereo shop
and have them test it as well, they'll get the same readings that i got when
i had brynmawr test the power.

Heres what I replied with:
Could you please mail me the origonal receipt and the birth certificate? Also, I read the Auction over again, and you claim that it is in &quot;like new condition&quot; it sure doesnt look like that to me. One of the places where you screw the amp down is broken off and the amp looks very old. I wish you had told me that it was the grey series and painted silver. I would like a refund due to the fact that the product was mis-represented in the auction.

And heres what I got back...
the place where u screw the amp down was like that from original installation
not age, and the amp does look good and is in perfect condition. I can't
offer a refund on that.

I'm e-mailing back right now telling him im going to be filing a fraud report/charges and see what he says. What a dick.

I think the main question is - is it really a 360.2 that does 834 or not? (and matches up with the certificates and such)
