(I know this may be a stupid question) what are the gray cables for?! I have 2 gray cables with tons of black leads, and then I have the normal motherboard connectors for system speaker, power, reset, etc. What are the extra gray cables for? 😀 Do I even need them? Someone enlighten me plz 🙂 Thanks..

Ah that's right, this case has front USB and firewire ports! Thanks m8 😀 Edit: Now to figure out how all these little black wires connect!

the one that pretends to be an Antec?
you can buy some floppy bay USB thingies from supposably cheiftec though, and of course a dozen other manuf'.

I think that the newere Chieftec cases have firewire on them too that could be what the remaining wiring could be for.

I'm considering a nice Cheiftec case I saw on newegg.com. Quick question, does it have good documentation? Good diagrams of what everything is and what plugs in where? I'm a n00b PC builder so that would be very usefull. I was thinking of an Enermax case but the reviews said they come with no documentation.

Also, are these cases well constructed?

Antec actually buys the case from Chieftec.😀

thats what i meant, the case is pretending to be an Antec but really its a Cheiftec.
Didnt notice it could equally be interpreted as "Cheiftec case trying to look like an Antec" 😛

Antec and Chieftech cases are made by Chenming. You may also find them labeled Uneec.

yup. i met some reps from chenming/uneec. very cool people. i asked why they were demo'ng antec cases at their booth, and the guy explained that they make all the cases and they are rebadged by a few "case manufacturers". my distributor sells them under then uneec brand, same as the cases you can get from antec and chieftec, and probably a few others.

They are very well constructed. Some of the best cases you can find. And the diagrams are usually up to the motherboard you get, and not the case...since each motherboard has different places to plug stuff into. The case does have a sheet telling you what the cables are. At least my Antec did...dunno about Chieftech 🙂

The best case documentation i've ever seen was with my new(er) LianLi case. Thing had the documentation and diagrams on how to unassemble the case rivet by rivet and put it back together and came with a whole box of spare parts.
My Chieftec case from Newegg didn't come with ANYTHING for documentation and very little spare parts. I wasn't that impressed with the bundle and packaging (however the case is beautiful and very functional), but then again it was the hot deal at newegg for the day and was a lower profile chieftech and not the top of the line.

Its cheiftec. Look at the name on the rails of "Chenming" cases.

Antec & Chenming distribute Chieftec cases in N. America, uneec is a division of Chenming. All 3/2 co's also made modifed versions of the cases, but they start off made by Cheiftec. Some say Chenming is owned by Chieftec, or vice versa, but chieftec does the manufacturing. About half the reviews for Antec/Chenming says it now, first google hit for chenming, (other than chenming.com) http://www.2fastcpu.com/chenm901sld/page1.html :
"Antec has recently been getting good reviews of their version of this case, but we went straight to the source, Chieftec. Chieftec is the real maker of this case, and they just have different distributors in each country. Antec just so happens to be the distributor in the U.S., so this is why they are the most popular. The case we are reviewing is marked as a Chenming case, but each part has Chieftec stamped on them. This is what the Antec cases lack. Today we get to take a close look at Chenming's Full Tower 901A-SLD case. "
