I just received my new canon a610 - and was not happy at all with the packing. The canon box was slid into a larger cardboardbox (only slightly larger) with a couple of 'air pillows' on top - nothing on bottom or the sides. To top it off the rear of the canon box was damp and you can still feel the moisture on it.

The camera seems to work fine - but I'm not sure at all if I should do anything. If it seems to work fine is it probably fine? The camera was wrapped in bubble wrap inside the canon box from the manufacturer and the wetness appears not to have encroached or ruined anything - but still.

What would you do?

Sounds like it fell into the swimming pool...

You should be ok as long as it didnt touch the batteries or memory card.

Everything is crap nowadays. I can't buy an LCD without someone giving me crap for returning one that came with a dead pixel.

"Ohh....you should just accept it, they happen..." WTF!?!?!?

Most packages these days are just the item and some packing peanuts/air pillows.
Depending on the item it might be fine with just medicore packing.
However I would be warry if a tech item was shipped via UPS. I don't trust UPS's handling of packages.
