Great compared to 2.1's? compared to the v2.400's?
or are they my-first-set-of-klipsch-speakers great? =)

'bump' for ya speakers, althought they definitely don't need it!

first set of promedia's, but I have klipsch speakers for my home entertainment system that I got about 5 years ago. And I am somewhat of an Audiophile, and they are just damn good for the value

Did they actually fix the midrange on the ProMedia 4.1s? The v.2-400s were horrible sounding in the midrange...the v.2 was a good name for them, Version 0.2, not yes a release version. Maybe the 4.1s are finally Version 1.0?

I've never heard the 2.1s or 4.1s though....

midranges sound great to me, I played the THX intro theme which hits the full range of sounds and it sounded awsome...

bgskier, that short THX theme wav is something else, isn't it? Played through Winamp, w/ the ProMedia (I have the 2.1's) volume set to midpoint, it just builds and builds and builds, until the floor is vibrating and your senses are simply overwhelmed <g>. I'm hearing things in songs I'd never heard before. Speakers like these also point out the shortcomings of many mp3's.

the midrange of the new 4.1's are MUCH MUCH better than the v.2-400's. i've had the v.2-400, and now 4.1's....and the midrange improvement is VERY noticable. they sound awesome now! highly recommended :) :)

too bad they're back ordered for 3+ months EVERYWHERE :(

there's a brand new 4.1 set on egay, but you'll have to pay premium for it. (and i think it's worth it ;))

I also have the 4.1 pros. Yes the Midrange is much better than the V2.400. Also if you think that the bass is too much for your taste? turn the node down ;) These speakers are the Best thing I got for my puter or than my Sony Monitor :). DVD's are never the some again ;) If you're lucky go to CrapUSA and look for them, I've seen atleast 3 sets seating on the shlef on the Honolulu, Hawaii Branch. CrapUSA sell them for $299.00, good luck in getting these bad boys cause they are worth the dollars. Waiting list is getting pretty long as I know it.

hmm...the bass on the 4.1's seem tighter and cleaner than they did on the v2-400's. i know that the subwoofer is exactly the same, maybe the new preamp has something to do with it

Ok, I just listened to the ProMedia 4.1s at a shop this morning. They appeared to sound a little better than the v2.400's - which I own, but no way are they worth shelling out another $300 to upgrade if you already own the v2.400's.

If you don't own a pair of Klipsch speakers, then the 4.1's are the ones to get. If you already own a pair of v2.400's, the difference is noticable, but minimal, so stick with what you have.

I haven't heard them myself but according to the review of them at gamersdepot, they say it's not really worth upgrading if you already own the original 4.1 system.

Its true that if you have the original v2.400 klipsch it isnt worth it to shell out another $300 bulks to buy these new ones. but you could always sell your old ones and buy the new ones ;) hehehhe. Yes the Mid-range on the NEW 4.1 is much better.
