Optimus is (as usual) right. This guy yasha is enjoying getting a suntan from the flames. When people try to speak to him reasonably, he seems disappointed, and he taunts them.

I hate to criticize you, WoWo, but please consider taking your own advice. Stop feeding the troll. ;)

I still can't believe that somebody called the Den Mother "toots".

And lived.

My response to the original post:

Ignore them. If you cannot ignore them, mess w/ 'em. I have had many encounters with the religious right in my lifetime, but I have never wanted to smash their heads in w/ a hammer. I have not wanted to beat the shyte out of them.

I have never had a religious nut ask me if I have been saved, nor have I had a religious nut tell me I am a sinner. I have had them, though, give me their little pamphlets. I simply take them, tear them, and toss them in the garbage. I never once have said "YOU DIRTY SOB. Stop trying to convert me!! blah blah, etc."

The only time I get dirty looks is when I say I am an atheist. I just turn the other cheek now. Maybe I would go off if someone flat-out called me a sinner(according to Skoorb's definition).

I have learned to live with the fact that the concept of "God" will be here for a long time...

Quaggoth, I'm not saying I agreed or disagreed with that piece of dialogue. I really don't care much about what went on according to the bible. During my early years I attended a private school that was religiously based. Which meant I had to attend church during certain days of the week. Anyway, I've read parts of the bible on my own because they are entertaining reads. Although the book says "his only "begotten" son, to !!!SAVE!!! all the rest of his children" does that mean everyone is on par with Jesus? And what does illinformed decision mean? It's not like I wrote that dialogue.

You folks are a little touchy about the guy asking the question. If your not a believer, the words saved and sinner should create no cause for concern. They are simply technical terms for a "theory" to which you do not subscribe. Why then the hostility? You absolutely cannot be saved if you do not believe you are lost. You cannot be a sinner if you don't in the theory of sin. Why the need to lash out? It would be like someone accusing me of being a "Martian". So what. However, if you kinda' believe then the old problem of conscienceenters the picture and.. well.
Now 2 things.
1. The man was I believe simply displaying a genuine concern for your spiritual well-being as he sees it. At least he cares.
2. You guys talk about beating him up, like your sure he won't fight back and win.

The point I belive many of us are trying to say is: WHAT THE FUSK IS IT HIS INTEREST TO KNOW IF I AM "SAVED"? Does he look better in god's eyes if he converts more people? Is there a quota?

ITS NOT HIS BUSINESS. Its rude, unnecesarry, and uncalled for.

There is hostility based upon the facts having no respect or tact.

It's none of his business "how it's going, how I feel..."etc. But why such anger? If he had said "Have yo had a flu shot?" and then "You look ill to me." would you still want to fight? Or would you shake your head and move on? I just can't figure out why anyone would claim to be so riled up over this. Maybe yasha looked like he needed help, or someone to talk too. This poor guy is just trying to share his belief in what has saved him and look at the response. Wonder why no one gets involved anymore? He may have not had the best presentation of his belief, but you "Roy D. Mercers" are taking it way too seriously. Laugh at him if need be and move on.

Oh, and hope he's wrong!
