I Just Got Groceries Delivered to my House - Am I dirty?

So as title suggests, I felt overwhelmed with work hours this week - wife as well is working well over 40 hours. But I got an email during my TOTALLY SERIOUS NON-FREE time during the working day to realize that my local grocery chain is offering to do free grocery deliveries (for now).

So during my time last night I was able to quickly compile a list of groceries (way easier than going to the store and navigating up and down isles)... and when I got home today from work there was some dude to drop off a bunch of groceries in my kitchen.

Am I horrible person?

Kroger click list is pretty cool if you have those near you. Just flip through an app, build your list, add any coupons, hit submit and when you want to pick them up. It's $5 and takes about 5 minutes out of your day (not counting detour to store if it's out of the way). You tend to get better produce with it too since the click list "shoppers" often grab from the stuff that just came in.

Yeah, but I paid $0 extra and had it delivered to the house. Win.

Uh, why would getting groceries clean you up?

:p

The kid is getting a job at K doing the click list.

I use Amazon Fresh once a month or so since I don't drive and I can carry only so much walking. It's great for non-perishable stuff, and OK for perishables though I prefer to pick out my own meat or apples.

Nope not at all, at least with the groceries part... been doing it for 5+ years now. No regrets. I still go to the store occasionally but its in and out for a specific thing I forgot.

I do it once a month. Just wish they would carry them up 50 steps to my apartment.

Grocery shopping is one of my favorite activity. It's something my wife and I can do together, and I find it relaxing. Ordering online sounds like work.

Dirty? Unknown...take a fucking shower...

Lazy? Perhaps...grocery shopping doesn’t take THAT long...and you get to pick out your own produce and meat instead of some minimum wage drone just grabbing something, regardless of the quality.

I HATE grocery shopping...but we do it together twice per week. (Yes, it’s nice to be retired and can shop whenever we want)

My maid does most of my grocery shopping. My smart fridge does the rest. The chef makes a weekly meal plan. Once a month Gordon Ramsey comes and cooks. Last month he cooked Spaghettio's from a can. FROM A CAN. He's such a cuck.

Do together da fuq is wrong with you?

Nothing I hate more than going to a store and trying to navigate around morons that bring their kids, grandparents, and an entire clown car full of people to just buy shit. It isn't a family bonding event, it's a chore. Quit making it a bigger pain in the ass for all the people that are trying to get the fuck out by navigating around you.

I do not want people in my home. I do not need to make it easy for them to determine if my home is worth breaking into at a later date. That is all.

Probably OK if you're buying all boxed or frozen stuff, but if you buy any produce you'll probably want to choose your own stuff.

Go back into your rat cage and work until you're exhausted. The difference between you and me is I have plenty of leisure time. And I enjoy cooking and eating. And I enjoy being around my wife and she has even more free time than me since she's stay at home mom. And my daughter is in high school so it's pretty much autopilot as far as care and she does her own thing.

All the big grocery stores like Publix, Sprouts, Trader Joe's, Aldi, Kroger, etc are less than mile or two away from me. The only store I shop at regularly that's kind of far is Costco and that's less than 6 miles away. So everything is short drive away so I don't have to deal with traffic mess. And I can go pretty much anytime since I have leisure time. And by going to the store, it gets me out of the house and I get some exercise and social interaction. I get to pick out my own meat and produce. If I go to buy something and I don't like the selection or the quality, I can substitute and buy different product and cook something else. Or if I go to buy something and I see amazing piece of meat with insane marbling, I'll buy it even if I had no intention of cooking that. Same with seafood. If I see great looking fish or shellfish, I'll buy it even if I didn't have any plan to.

The shopping I hate is anything other than grocery shopping. Luckily, Amazon, eBay, Costco and others make it easy to buy general stuff online so I don't waste time with that. But grocery shopping? As long as I'm alive, I'm doing the shopping myself so I can get the freshest food possible. You want my grocery business? Have a business that can deliver me the freshest ingredients at the lowest price point possible. Or grocery products or items I can't get locally. When I mean fresh, I mean fresh catch of the day directly delivered to me. That's the only online grocery shopping I'm interested in. Something like Costco online where they will ship live Maine lobsters directly to my doorstep. Or A5 Kobe beef. Something I can't get at a regular grocery store or is difficult or hassle to obtain. That's really the only thing online grocery is good for. Buying things you can't normally get locally.

I hate shopping and now we use Walmart pickup. Choose groceries, set pickup time, drive there and park. For some produce, we let them do it and we have never had a complaint with their picks. I don't buy meat there so I don't know about that.

The upside is that I probably save $400 a month by not filling my cart with random shit every week that I walk around the store. I also save time not walking around. I have better things to do with my time. I do not see grocery shopping as a hobby.

I like grocery shopping, and I don't know what I'm getting til I get there for the most part. I have zero interest in buying food online unless I can't get what I'm looking for locally.
