reading this article about how the weak minded are easily empowered by minimalistic grants of authority. It was interesting, had to do with lack of social skills, resentment towards others, and a host of other interesting traits.

It had me wondering, do people who seek authoritarian jobs ultimately expose their lack of social progess in other ways? Do people in our own government suffer from these same issues?

No, actually, I really did read such a thing. I had a few cop friends that read it and begrudgingly agreed that it was the case. I'll try to find it online if you're interested.

From my 20+ years of professional work experience, yes. The inept quickly climb the ranks to get into these positions.

Do people in our own government suffer from these same issues?

I can't speak too much about the government side. However, I've seen plenty of folks in this category on the corporate side. Actually, on the corporate side, they're a dime a dozen. Most of these people that I encountered, could never handle my "voice of reality." 😉
