Atomic Cannon is one of the best Scorched Earth clones I've ever played. They have a demo, but it's really worth springing for the full version. Don't bother with their other games though, they suck. I got suckered into purchasing their discount 3-pack and wish I had just gone with only Atomic Cannon.

Some other must-have items, IMO are SPB Weather, Resco Explorer/Registry/Today Plugin, Opera Mobile (huge improvement over PIE), and MobiPocket Reader if your local library lends ebooks in their format.
