I just bought a Dell 1905FP monitor. Please help me to use this the best quality way....

I don't know much about world of LCD...

I should get DVI right? what kind? I heard there are two different kind, DVI-I, DVI-D???

What is the good resolution for this? at what refresh rate?

Should I do cleartype from microsoft website?

tell me, teach me anything!!! i'm so excited....this is a very cool monitor...

thanks all

Forget refresh rate - LCDs don't refresh - they will usually indicate 60 - but it is meaningless.

The best resolution is the native resolution of the particular LCD. See your specs for that. Anything less is an interpolation that degrades quality of the image. And, you can't go higher than native.

Use a digital cable if you have one. Cleartype is built into Windows. I would bet that it comes defaulted with that from Dell.

Turn off the LCD when you are not using it - the backlight bulb has a finite life and is expensive to replace.
