I just got a crucial m4 256gb msata from amazon.

Its literally a turbo double boost for your pc. Things will pop up at you, youll be shocked! your 2 minute boot up will be 20 seconds or so.
documents will open up in a split second, photoshop 2 and half seconds on first launch hmmmm boot up is 20 seconds Photoshop first launch is 2 1/2 seconds everything is instant and pops at you. This whole message is just a opinion and my experiences. I am not downing any SSD for other. Thank you. These events happened in my mind or whatever when I got my SSD. I needed 512GB to put everything on it, OS, apps games, data everything. its a lot of space. Sammy 830 700 dollars. Crucial M4 399.99 to the door step. What warrants the 300 dollar price difference in these two 512GB SSDs? From my research I can say , Crucial in Toms Testing vs 830 , was the fastest to boot up 16.8 seconds. and sammy was 18.2 seconds. Photoshop launches in about 2 seconds , and I boot up in 20 sec. I dont like the controller in the Sammy...I just dont trust Sammy with SSDs. They will be what OCZ was to RAM. These are just my opinions. I got F4's but . Both drives degrade in performance to like 20mbps even on crystal. So I have to defrag 3 times, then with another program and speed went up to 150mbps then it would degrade depending on reboots or what. So I don't like Samsung guys for hard drives or SSDs. I got 2 and they both do this. They replaced also so total 3 drives i have tried, same thing degrading performance.
Heck Im sata 2 and its blazing at 260mbps lol. My windows had a broken readyboot. Soo my boot up was 3 to 4 minutes, plus hard drive trashing when inside windows until after 15 minutes I could begin using it.. heeh ,, Now 20 seconds is boot time,,,,, and everything is instant ,, photoshop 2 sec, games instantly
 
Very nice. . But IM SATA 2.0 so I get 260mbps lol I need a new compupter soon... Eveything is fast tho just like my dads machine which is ssd. no diff between 2.0 and 3.0 .. the difference comes when you copy large large files..

The Sammy 830 was 700 dollars. What justified the extra 300 dollars..so I got the M4 512GB,,,,,, smooth and fast not a single issue,, updated the firmware. Make sure you do that. Cuz I got 0309 as my firmware, then I DLed something like 1FFF its update so ya,, that's good to know they are on it.

When they first came out. The Crucial M4 512GB was 850 dollars and the Sammy 512GB was 1200 dollars.


My boot time used to be 4 minutes cuz I broke readyboot. With SSD and it went from 4 minutes and thrashing left and right to 20 seconds , ready to go everything pops up no lag. gl



Now look at the prices. This is great.
