Compared to other Flash memory types with CompactFlash there's a bigger difference than just the memory since the IDE controller is contained within the card. So you can have different 'speed's of memory depending on the quality of the controller. This has a direct effect of the delay between pictures. Although doubling the controller speed doesn't double the number of pictures you can take in a certain amount of time, a fast Flash card will be noticeably faster than a slower one in response time.

I would highly recommend Lexar CompactFlash cards. They are more expensive, but the 8x 48MB Lexar card that I bought was noticeably faster than the 8MB card that came with my Canon S110 so I can take pictures noticeably faster (not in 1/8 of the time, but it does seem 30% faster than with the old one).

Another good source is Crucial.Com - high quality memory, good prices and with free shipping. Note the 16% discount link at the top of the forums list.

We posted at the same, so I couldn't read yours before I posted mine.

I read the review and I admit that the Viking looks like a better bet (especially at $40 for 128MB which is amazing enough that I'm trying to figure out if I want to upgrade to 128MB).

I bought the Canon S100 about 10 months ago and shortly after that I bought the Mr. Flash 128MB CF card from Newegg. So far, everything has been working great under moderate usage. My experience with the 128MB CF card is that works with pretty good speed for the first 100 or so photos(estimate), but slows down considerably after that. The slowdown is noticable when powering up the camera (the green light flashes for quite a while), and during the storage period after snapping a photo. This can be irritating but, for me, is just a slight inconvenience. I imagine it also wears the battery down a bit faster, but I really couldn't tell without more testing. At the default setting, I can get about 209 photos on it. Of course, I don't see this behavior with the 8MB card that came with the camera. I haven't tried any other high capacity CF cards at this point, so I can't give a comparison with "faster" units.
