The reason I'm so excited is the population of my town is only a couple of thousand in the middle of nowheres. I've been using 256 down 128 up forever - that was the only tier that they had that would work at my distance from the dsl colo or whatever they call it. . .

It did not cost me anything extra! :p

I have to have internet connection for my Master's program and for my job, too.

Again, not to rehash the argument - I can afford to put 20$ more in the car - however, as I said it is hurting the nation by me (and everyone else) having to do that. What I spend in gas and fuel that LEAVES the United States - could be spent here - helping our economy.

That money you spend on gas goes back into the economy...

Arguably - much more leaves the country.

Again, every dollar spent on fuel is a dollar not spent on things manufactured or produced in this country.

Look around, what is manufactured or produced in this country. Not to much anymore.

As for the gas...

The oil may not be from here, but it is refined about 60 miles south of me.

I just switched from Comcast craptastic cable even after the "free" speed upgrade. Now with Earthlink @ 19.95/month. Slower but not enough to justify going back to $60/month.
