I just fubar'ed both my cdrw and dvdrw in one single idiot move.

I have a space heater and a bathroom, in my room is directly by my desk
so I put the heater in there for a shower, and when i get back in my room, i just pull it in my room. I have my computer out cause i got 2 new 300 gig hdds, and was copyin stuff. The space heater got the front of my comp so hot, it warped both my trays, i can hear the cd rub agaisnt it when it burns. It just took me 15 minutes to 24x a 65 minute cd, and my dvd-rw just failed.

Ugh
 
just the bezel's? im sure you could take them off and get replacements... just stop trying to burn in the devices while they're fubared
 
Sounds like the trays are fubared.

EDIT: On another note, I just opened my nec 3520 and closed it for no reason other then to look at the tray.

That sucks man... but as someone else said, lucky you didnt start a fire...

My old man is a Fire Marshal, so I'm anal about stuff like that 🙂

Also, computers do not like to be plugged into the same circuit as a space heater. The space heater does some funky stuff with the power that the power supply doesn't really like.
