Around here it's both demographics-and frankly probably more skewed towards the mid-life crowd. I test drove one once-and absolutely loved it-reminded me of a friend's father's cherished Austin-Healey I was entrusted to tool around in. The main difference is the Miata lacks British craftsmanship and quality control (satire).

The beauty of the Miata is that it has just enough power and handling to keep up with the big boys but not so much power that a too-heavy foot is likely to get a decent driver in trouble. They're also relatively cheap and reliable.
I'm a big fan. I'm 6'1" and can't fit in one with the top up, but still a big fan.
