I was messing around on redhat linux and I fuond the GIMP program.( I am really new to the Linux world). And I am a pretty big fan of photoshop... when I saw GIMP, I almost freeked. Is it almost the same thing as adobe photoshop? How do they compare?
Anyway, my photoshop 7 trial expired a while ago, and now my 8 is about to expire also. So this is really cool.

Yea, GIMP is a very interesting product. Powerful image editor and best of all, it's FREE! 🙂

They also have a Windows version of GIMP if you don't know.

You can look for more information @ Gimp.org

It's not quite as robust as Photoshop, but it does everything I need it to do when it comes to retouching and enhancing my digital photos.

Are there any GIMP program modifications made by Linux users that are even closer to being like new versions of photoshop?
