I just finished STALKER: S.o.C. - should I skip Clear Sky?

I dont like FPS games. Im never any good at them and I just never enjoy them. However, I picked up STALKER on sale the other day, only bought it because I've always been morbidly fascinated by Chernobyl and figured for 5 bucks I had to check it out.

Surprisingly, I LOVED the game. Everything about it was great. The atmosphere was unbelievable, I loved it.

But combat was a blast, weapons were satisfying to fire, sounded great, etc. It was FUN. Something I dont get from FPS games normally.

Anyway, I want MORE. I've read Clear Sky was fairly different from the original, should I skip it and go right to Call of Pripyat? Or will I enjoy it if I loved the first one?

A lot of people didn't like Clear Sky, but I was not one of them. I think people's main problem with it was the faction wars that never really worked right. But it's a good game IMO. Expands on the original in many ways by offering weapon and armor repairs and upgrades.

It's probably really cheap so there's no reason not to get it. Hell I got it as a freebie with my ATI graphics card a couple years ago.

So the combat and the environment are pretty much the same as the original? If those things are close, I think I'll love it.

Call of Pripyat is a must buy if you liked SoC. It's improved in many ways, though the atmosphere isn't quite as good imo.

Clear Sky was actually the first of the series that I played, and I enjoyed it for the most part, but I never ended up finishing it.

I've finished both SoC and CoP more than once, and I think they're both better games than CS.

I was very disappointed with the ending to Clear Sky. It like the developers gave up and just wanted to quickly end it. The ending was very sloppy.

I can't think of any prequel having a good ending actually. Having played SOC(if you payed attention to the story that is), once you get at the Limansk- NPP highway you are sure 90% of the ending.

OP, I'll go against the flow and recommend Clear Sky over CoP.

I liked CS. Not as good as SoC, but the basic Gameplay is the same.

You'll like it just fine. If the SoC was 9, Clear Sky was a 7.5

A 7.5 ain't bad! It's still more of what you love. You'll really love it for the price.
