I left Rome and landed in Brussels
On a plane ride so bumpy that I almost cried
Clergymen in uniform and young girls pullin’ muscles
Everyone was there to greet me when I stepped inside
Newspapermen eating candy
Had to be held down by big police
Someday, everything is gonna be diff’rent
When I paint my masterpiece
yea it just keeps getting better too.
In 2002, HBO and the BBC agreed to co-produce a new series based on the events of the "Roman Revolution". Towards that end, the two networks committed a $100-110 million (£62.7 million) budget to the production of twelve 1-hour episodes, with HBO contributing $85 million, and the BBC contributing $15 million.[2] The BBC contributed £800,000 to every episode of Rome in its first season.[3]
If it was only $1 million per episode, HBO could have pumped out 10 seasons. The $1 million per show is what became "unfeasible."
just finished season 1 last night... wow 0_0
crazy final episode.
i shouldn't have read a bunch of wikis yesterday on Caesar and Roman history... kind of ruined the episode for me :/
edit: i should re-watch the ep, i watched it after golf and was kinda drunk 0_0
Yeah, Rome was another HBO favorite of mine also. Only reason I have and have had HBO is their series like Deadwood, Carnivale, True Blood, Rome and the like.
Kevin McKidd who played Lucius Vorenus is now a Doctor on Grays Anatomy. Didnt care for him in Rome, dont like him in GA. Couldnt buy him as a mighty Roman warrior. Just a nitpick I know. Pullo was my favorite and a lot more believable.

The cost was $10 million per episode.
The whole point was that he wasn't a mighty warrior. He was just a professional squad leader serving his city state. Have you met many marines or soldiers? Some of them are quite reserved and don't necessarily burn with any "glow." You might not even think them soldiers or marines if it weren't for their haircuts. That's the point, he's identifiable because of his quiet service and devotion, not his battle rage.
btw, for those of you who are fans of Modern Warfare 2, Kevin McKidd (Lucius Vorenus) is the voice actor for Soap MacTavish
No, that can't be right. I remember reading 1 million at all sources I read about this.
low viewership?! wow... there must have been something else really good on in that slot then. I thought it was very well done.
Can't wait to start The Wire. heard so many good things about it.
