I backed up tons of stuff... everything from small .jpg's for my website to my major contact lists. What did I do after that?? Forgot to back up my email. :|

ViperGTS is here and just laughed at me.:Q:D

aaw, I guess it's all good. :)

I got Outlook up and running again checking my accounts, but don't have any of my history, saved email, etc. Damn I'm stupid.

Lesson hard learned. At least you remembered to back up everything else.

I learned the lesson very hard. I had pictures of my dog who had died recently. I took about 200 with my digital camera. He was a 120 pound German Shepard. Best dog ever, and the smartest. Taught him how to whisper in about 2 hours time (seriously). IT was really cool. Like a quiet bark (he knew bark as well). I lost all those pictures because I forgot to back them up. I am still sad about it, and it happened about 6 months ago.:(

Was re configuring my drives today. I hooked up everything right and fired up the system... it wouln't detect my Primary hard drive. Couple of tries later, I noticed the power supply to the hard drive was disconneced.

2 formats ago, I backed up everything to my storage partition. I ran win2k install, choose the wrong partition to format and install...

Did I mention I lost over 6 gigs of hard to find anime episodes?

easyrecovery 5.0 - I think you can find a demo version on cnet downloads
the demo lets you recover 20 files at a time (if i remember right)

it scans the drives looking for missing files and fragments
you'll be surprised what it can find
take it from someone who did something just as stupid

hope it helps

I've formatted about 10 times in the last 2 months with different systems and every time I get pissed I forgot to export my bookmarks before I wiped it out.

better than your system crashing with nothing backed up. You'll be surprised by how much you don't need after you've lost data.

No mater how carefull I am there is always something that I forget to back up.
Either Bookmarks or E-mail or my ICQ. Loosing your bookmarks is the worst. There
are always sites that you will never find again.

heh... yeah, I don't have any games installed anymore besides an AWESOME Tetris type game from this site (jump to Tetris page) by a guy who thought he'd make his own. ViperGTS and I play back and forth on it trying to see who can get the highest score. He has me by some 3,000 (GRR).

It is interesting to see just how much you can still do and not have a trigger finger when it comes to installing things.
