I just downloaded the latest drivers for my RS480 motherboard

I only installed these ones over the ones that came with my motherboard CD. I mean, I didn't uninstall the old ones in the Add/Remove Programs, but I just ran and installed the new .exe I downloaded. Anyway, I don't know how to get to the Catalyst Control Center. I can only right click the icon in the bottom right and do some things there. By the way, when I right click there (only once per computer reboot) and when I open the Advanced settings, the screen goes black for a vert short time until the settings come up. Is there something wrong here?

Thank you very much!

If you don't have the Windows .NET base installed, you won't be able to use the CCC. This is explained on the ATI website, and has links as to where to get everything you need.

Just search for "Catalyst Control Center install" on google and check out a couple of the links.

I have .NET installed. However, I need more questions answered:

Did not uninstalling my old drivers through add/remove programs affect anything in my new drivers?

I only downloaded and installed the Win XP drivers for "Motherboards with ATI Graphics", which includes
Display Driver,
Control Panel,
GART Driver,
South Bridge driver
according to the ATI website.
Should I also install the Win XP drivers for "RADEON", even though I'm using my Radeon Xpress 200 IGP?

Anyway, with all of this, should I manually uninstall anything before installing new things? Thank you very much.

You do not have Catalyst Control Center installed apparently, so you should have access to the legacy control panel instead:

*Right Click Desktop>Properties>Settings>Advanced

That should give you control of your graphic settings. You should also have all the drivers installed that you need.

Looks like your download contains the display driver unless you are using something other than the onboard, or an ATI graphics card. You should be able to tell by checking the advanced display properties.

If I go to Advanced, then Options, it says Catalyst and the Version is 05.6, but I don't have the Control Center. I only have the Legacy Control Panel...

I only have the Legacy Control Panel...

Look at your list and you'll see that the Catalyst Control Panel is not included. The distribution for Radeon IGP doesn't include Catalyst Control Center, it includes the legacy control panel. It works fine however, I've been using it on my RS480 board for some time now. You'll have to download it seperately if you want to use it.

Ah, so I can download it and it will work just fine? Can you just give me a quick link to the page where I can download it so I don't download the wrong thing on ATI's website?

I need to know how to make the image on my LCD centered and small when using a lower resolution than 1280 x 1024 so things don't get all compressed and blurry...Do you know how to do that?

Thank you very much!

How should I go about installing this, though, since I have my mobo drivers installed already?

Thanks.

EDIT: Should I also uninstall the Legacy Control Panel in my Add/Remove Programs before installing the new CCC? What else should I install/uninstall, etc.

Shouldn't have to uninstall anything, CCC will just replace the legacy control panel while it is installed, if you run into issues the legacy panel will be available if you uninstall CCC.
