..network user accounts for pre-schoolers. This includes e-mail accounts, too. For some reason I find this odd, wrong..and useless..but who knows. I'm not a teacher.

I think it's great. Young children learning computers early. It's gotta start sometime, computers are a way of life these days.

Hmmm....I don't think that Pre-schoolers need the internet at all...can't see why that can't wait until Junior School (7yrs +)

Agreed. Unless it's extremely strictly monitored. I personally wouldn't be comfortable with it if it was my child.

Block everything. Apologize later.
Besides, these are children. They have no "rights" under the constitution. And the only protections for the children are the laws about welfare and labor.

Pre-schoolers do not need and should not have access to e-mail. This is upsetting me. I know times were different but development of our children's minds hasn't changed that much since I was young. Children of that age need to be working with their hands, building spatial relationships, coordination, INTERACTION WITH OTHER HUMANS! We are seriously moving to a secluded society where we will never see anyone except online. I find this a waste of resources and of no benefit to the children who will be attending the pre-school. The "teachers" should rethink this decision.

Computers in schools for kids younger than 12 is a complete waste of effort and money. God forbid they would actually spend time teaching the basics.
It's painfully obvious to me that since the widespread adoption of computers in schools the ability to read, write, and spell has done nothing but deteriorate.
