took me a good hour+ to count all my coins with the help of my little sister. any ideas on where to spend it? cash it through coinstar? they charge a hefty fee of 8.9%! i heard Commerce bank in NYC has these coin machines for no service fees but do i have to be a customer?

I've always wondered what happens if you put exactly one dollar worth of coins in coinstar. Does it give you back 91 cents in coins? 😉

in texas any bank i got to will cash your coins. If you bank with them, it is free, otherwise, maybe a 2% charge.

Maybe it is different in nyc?

No, the machines print out a slip-thing, that you then take to one of the store's cashiers ( I think) then they give you the money.

Don't you get a receipt then go to the cashier to get your money? EDIT: Yeah, I'm slow.

OP: Gradually spend it at self checkouts. Then you won't lose any money!

I believe they do it for free, never charged me when I used to do it.

You sound about, eight years old, so I doubt they'll take money from you.

I did it once. There was a line of people, and after a while it stopped working. Either there's a limit on how many coins you can use or I clogged it up.

Strip club. Instead of singles, throw fistfuls of change at the stage. If they're smart they'll catch on quick and stick around regardless, $250 is $250. Or maybe that's if they're dumb and don't degrade easy.

Come to think of it, if you are throwing 50c rolls, maybe they're just concussed.
