My dad works with a PA (Physician's Assistant) whose husband owns a lot of property in downtown Ann Arbor, and they had a dinner party at their home tonight. This place is amazing. Three full floors, a finished basement added to that, at least 20 acres of property, a private lakefront with a beach, a full fire supression system, and radiant heating in the floors, including in the garage. All rooms are wired with Cat-5, RJ-11 (obviously) and coax. I was expecting a full widescreen 50-inch plasma HDTV setup, but their entertainment center is pretty modest...just digital cable, unfortunately - no HDTV.
I was in awe of their kitchen most of all. They've got a Viking range and a Sub-Zero fridge, and the countertops are solid granite, at least 2 inches thick. Amazing.
I was impressed by their choice of cars. This guy knows that cars depreciate, and since he's into real estate, he's into appreciating investments, I guess. He owns a Jaguar XK8, a Chrysler Town and Country, a 2004 F-150, and a New Beetle Convertible. Very sensible cars, I think.
They have a daughter who's about two years younger than me. She was good looking, but knowing how much she was worth made her a whole lot more attractive.

EDIT: the house was modeled after this one. The outside of the house looks a lot like it.
