I just came back from the store but haven't installed it yet. A funny thing happened at the counter - as I was paying, the guy at the counter told me that it comes with a 30-day activation period. I replied that I know that. Then he told me that after I activated it, I'd have to be careful about what I install, because "Microsoft will know". I just smiled and walked away....

I don't know about you, but I think that my Viewsonic monitor is actually a disguised x10 camera piping what I am doing directly back to Microsoft.

you should have told him that youre a bigshot programmer and know infinately more than he will ever know... then he'll shut up, otherwise get ready for yap yap yap..

Well, I'm back, which means that my installation went smoothly without having any men in black appearing at my doorstop yet....

So far I like the look and feel of the system, although one little bug that I noticed right away was that I experienced a performance lag while trying to scroll through drop down lists with a large number of items (e.g. when selecting time zone).

I'll be off and exploring the OS now....
