Just went to Harvard Book Store, and bought my copy of the sixth Harry Potter. I haven't started reading, and I doubt I will tonight, because if I do, I won't get my sleep (I read the fifth HP in 6 hours straight, and that was a bad idea, especially since I had work the next day...). Post if you've gotten your copy yet.

That, and only that, would make me want to even consider buying that crap. As it is, I haven't seen any more than a few chunks of the movie nor read any of the books, and I remain happily ignorant.

Pre-Ordered at Barnes and Noble for free.

Instead, walked in at 12:30am into Meijers, enjoyed fruit punch and cake. Picked up my book, paid and left!

Total time at Meijers: 5 min.
Time it would have taken if I went to BN: 45-90 min (As I passed the BN going to Meijers, I noticed that the parking lot was JAM PACKED)

It was also 2 dollars cheaper!

I think a woot is appropriate right about now...

w00t!!! :)

It's nice to know Ivy League students are keeping up on the classics.:Q

I don't go to Harvard, my parents just live close to it, and I'm staying at their house for the summer. I go to Brandeis, because they want more diversity on campus. So when they find a young black male with a 3.9 GPA, no criminal record, and some nice connections (high-school principal is good friends with the Dean, so is Judge Mark L. Wolf (US District court, whom I was an intern for the summer before last), the young black male with a 3.9 GPA, no criminal record, and some nice connections gets a full scholarship. :D I do wan't to get into Harvard Law school after I get my Bachelors' though.

You're quite ignorant. I'm fully interested in the Harry Potter series, they're incredibly written. But I've also taken interest in adults books, most of which you've probably never even read. Some titles like Schindlers' List, 1984, etc.

So, do I read at a Childrens' level aswell? No. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy a good book.

Don't worry, most Harry Potter bashers have never picked up any of the books. I should know, I used to be one, until I read the second book :Q. I've read all of the books in the series now 2 times each, and I'm on page 54 of the new one.

They're not exactly thought-provoking, or deeply intellectual, but GOD DAMN they're very entertaining reads. You're pretty much stepping into a different world when you open them :).
