wow this is the greatest monitor ever.
i am coming from the first gen of the GX line, my last monitor was an NEC lcd1770gx-bk.
i am not sure what it is about that opticlear technology and the contrast / brightness on these things but other normal lcd monitors pale in comparison. I had actually bought an acer 24" AL2416w but sold it to get the NEC even though it is smaller and still cost almost as much. It just wasnt nearly as good as my older NEC so I assumed the newer NEC was better and well i was right.
the closest thing to looking as good is a CRT in my opinion, but i would never buy a CRT since no one sells them, and they are huge, and refresh rates kill eyes.
that said, i just saw that they released a 20wmgx2pro. sigh. apparently they just renamed it though since there is nothing new in the specs (i guess the 70gx2pro and 90gx2pro have faster refresh but they are a 6-bit TN panel and not as good as the 20" anyway).
one thing that is nuts about the 20wmgx2 is you can even change the relative brightness that the blue LED on the power button is set to. a bit much but wow.
Anyhow, pagecomputer has it for $550 + tax + shipping + $8 california lcd recycling fee. us californians get screwed compared to everyone else, but it was still well worth it for $625 or so.
