I just bought (not a week ago) a used connect3d x850xtpe from someone on anand fs forums, and i'm having some problems with it - it works fine in windows, but when i go into a game like world of warcraft or counter strike: source, after a few minutes an audible beep can be heard in the computer, and over my headphones. After awhile of investigating I found the video card was overheating, and after a bit more investigating i found that the fan on this card only goes at 5% of its potential out of the box. I downloaded a program, ATI tray tools, to increase the fan speed - with it about 15% fan speed idle, and ramping it upwards as heat increases, i haven't had problems for a few days. But now I am beginning to get artifacts in WOW, random split-second blips that take up half or more of the screen, and once the video cut out entirely for about 1/10th of a second. This card is bone stock speeds, i've never overclocked it. case temp is sitting at around 30-35C, processor about the same (huge zalman on a a64 4000), but the vid card GPU is sitting at about 50C idle, and can go up to 70C or so when in heavy use, if this ATI tray tool program is accurate.

Am i missing something?
