I just bought a wireless Xbox 360 controller to use with my PC.

And after opening it and putting in the batteries, it dawned on me. I have NO way of actually syncing it to my computer. ....Dammit. I dun goofed. I should've bought a wired controller. You can tell I don't know jack shit about video game consoles, because I just assumed that it would come with some sort of USB dongle, when obviously that's not the case.

So should I just go ahead and buy the wireless USB adapter? It will be an additional $30, and I'm a bit concerned judging from other people's reviews, because apparently it draws a lot of power from the USB port and might not work depending on how many devices I have plugged in.

I'm considering maybe just seeing if I can trade it with one of my friends for a wired controller or something. Maybe I'll even take it to the FS/FT forum, I don't know.

I'm not sure if Target will take back a controller that I just opened. What do you guy suggest?

So, I actually just took it back to Target, and yeah, they accepted it. I'm not sure why I started this thread then. I guess I just needed to vent my frustration.

Fired up Dirt 2 with my new wired 360 controller, and I'm enjoying it. Plays like a dream. Thanks guys.
