I just bought a 50pk spindle of TDK media that was on sale. It says its made in China, so I guess they are not TY? Also, the stuff made in china still good??

They're likely not Taiyo Yuden made, but to make sure, you'll have to put one in your box and use CDRIdentifier. Some programs such as Feurio or Nero can also report the manufacturer. Most burners these days can read the ATIP information which is where the manufacturer info is located.

I believe I have a spindle of the same media, TDK 32X, right?

My Plextor burns them at 24X just fine, but Windows has a terrible time reading them. Windows estimates 45+ minutes to copy 600 MB off of the discs when I record them at 24X, but does it in 3-4 when recorded at 16X.

So, all my earth CD's are recorded at 16X.
