I just bought a $2700 mattress...

I have lived on a $300 piece of crap for the last 14 years and I finally had enough.

I bought a "Simmons World Class Euro Top" something or other...

Of course it's not listed on Simmons website as apparently it's some kind of custom order for the company (What better way to confuse a customer than by making it one of a kind and not anywhere on the internet to compare)...

Something like 1073 coils, it's soft on top...

It must have been the easiest sale for the guy ever. I said I wanted something soft, in a queen size and <$2000.

He showed me this $2700 mattress and gave it to me for $1479. Took me less than 20 minutes.

As far as I know the model is "Imperial Royale"

What I've got on my bill is "3-8959M B/R Imperial Royale CT QN MA"

If the mattress is indeed overpriced, I don't take delivery for another 2 weeks and have "100% refundable deposit" marked on my bill because I told the guy I would take a day or so to think about it.

PS, I'm in Canada so my $1479 is $1188 USD.

Edit: The bed itself was only $1106 (I paid $306 for the box spring according to the bill)

Unfortunately, you did get ripped. Everyone knows mattress sets are overpriced in the store by 800-1000% I used to do computer work for Value City Furniture and saw first hand how much the markups are.

You could have negotiated down to at least $800 for that mattress set. Probably more with some work.

I could advertise a Snickers bar for $5,000 and then sell it to you for $100. Doesnt mean its a good deal.

I knew this thread was going places the minute i read it. If somebody drops the price from $2,700 to $1,400 in 20 minutes, you know it really didn't cost a whole bunch to begin with. You got ripped.

I have just learned so much because of your bad fortune, BigToque. Thank you for taking one for the team. I'll remember this when I get my king size!

"World Class" is the line of mattress. It should have an accompanying model name like the Darrion one you mentioned in the Walmart link.

OP what model did you get?

You mattress pros know if they make a plush on one side and firm on another?

We've always bought at Costco - hope we didn't get ripped but I find it too soft.

Irony.
