200 Classics

And I plan to read every single one. Wonder if I am able to do it.

Actually, quite a few I have already read but the deal was such that I could excuse a few duplicates.

So, what do you think, am I insane?

Well that did occur to me. However, I have a few of this series already and they all are very well done. Most of them have very decent introductions, footnotes and endnotes and aside from The Count of Monte Cristo, none of novels are abridged.

I can't read for long periods on the computer screen, and I have no desire to print these books out.

They also look very nice in my living room.

speaking as an english lit major... a lot of them aren't worth reading. lol.

Double down!

I will say that if you're back to the reading game after a few years this would be a good warmup before you start heading into some more focused reading. Nonetheless, happy reading and may this collection some day down the line benefit a young scholar in your future life.

I don't know how many books I have here, maybe 500-600...it'd be nice to have something like this knowing that pretty much any classic you'd have.

Works great in the middle of the night when you can't sleep and there is nothing on TV and you don't want to be in front of the computer anymore.

also during hurricane season with our power outages, books are great.

That's awesome. I did a count of my books the other day its around 200 so in retrospect this doesn't seem like such a huge splurge. Especially in light of the Penguin classics deal.
