I just about gave myself a freakin' heart attack earlier today. Tim told me that someone at his work (We call her "Ma) wanted to see me. So I stopped by his work and first went to the restroom, said hi to him and then went to say hi to her. We talked for a bit and my stomach started cramping again (it's been happening and I had to go to the doc today) and I needed to use the facilities yet again. After washing and drying my hands, I noticed something. MY ENGAGEMENT RING WAS MISSING!!!!! Immediately my stomach started cramping again (of course) and I started to think about where it could have gone. I suddenly remembered that I used the restroom there earlier. I started digging out the paper towels in the trash can and when I looked in.....there was my ring. *Whew* I've lost so much weight that it doesn't want to stay on my finger any more. I'm at least size and a quarter smaller in my finger. I don't know how much more it will go down before we're married. So now....I'm wearing it on my middle finger. God....I was so scared. This ring is priceless to me. It was made in the '20s and they stopped cutting diamonds like this (mine cut) in the 50s.

On a side note: Ma wanted to see me because she'd just returned from Italy and had gotten me something. She bought me an embroidered handkerchief. It has some flowers on it....some pink, some blue...and a bright white Q in the middle. (That will be my initial once married to Tim.) Wasn't that thoughtful? I was so touched that she thought of me while on vacation in Italy.

chrisms - LOL His little brother is seventeen and he's always telling me that I should marry him and not Tim. lol

Kalvin00 - So am I! My ring is just priceless. It's not insured yet, so. . .I was just so scared. lol

Astaroth - I bought some ring sizers, but I didn't like the way they felt. We're going to get my ring sized and insured and stuff, I believe, when we pick out our wedding bands.

Right on. We're almost anniversary twins. ;) LOL I hope your first year is going well.

suse920 - No doubt! It's resting firmly on my middle finger now. I'm going to wait until we pick out wedding bands to get it sized because I'm still losing weight.

glad you found your ring.

keep in mind that you can use your wedding bands to keep the engagement ring on your finger and save the money for resizing. then eventually i would think you'd only be wearing the wedding bands.

or is it engagement ring on the outside?

The engagement ring is usually on top. :)

And for the pictures....The ring is now firmly resting on my middle finger. It fits there now instead of my ring finger.

From the side....

Straight on.

There's a row of three round diamonds, a row of three baguette sapphires, center stone and the same on the other side.

EDIT: I think my ring finger is down a size and a quarter, but I'm not sure of the exact size just yet.

i'm glad you found your ring, heather. :)

when my husband and i got sized for wedding rings, the ring sizer told us that it's probably ideal to get a smaller sized wedding ring to keep the engagement ring on. that's what i did; i'm wearing two rings on the same finger and one is a 0.25" larger than the other. they fit nicely, and i still need to put in a little effort to get them off.

that said, if you're possibly going to lose your ring in a trash bin, you probably should get it resized quickly. i remember getting an opal ring for my 12th birthday and being the tomboy i was, i participated in a ball game with a bunch of guys and my ring fell off. i spent hours looking for it but i'm assuming one of the guys took it home with him. i still cringe at that thought since i loved that ring. :(

I'm not wearing it at the moment because my fingers are still numb from my injections. I was wearing it on my middle finger, though. It fits fine there, but we do need to get it resized.

I always thought that your wedding ring was the closest to your palm and then your engagment ring was on top of that. Weird. lol

Sup Grinch.

Glad you found your ring. I hate that feeling when you realize you've lost something of value.

But, remember, life is too short to worry about material items.

It's more sentimental than money. I mean....the ring is really old. It's from the 20s (like I said) and really unique. I just reallllly freaked out. lol

Tami - Ahhh okay.

This whole story was simply a thinly veiled attempt to brag about how much weight you've lost. Don't try to deny it!
