I just about gave myself a freakin' heart attack earlier today. Tim told me that someone at his work (We call her "Ma) wanted to see me. So I stopped by his work and first went to the restroom, said hi to him and then went to say hi to her. We talked for a bit and my stomach started cramping again (it's been happening and I had to go to the doc today) and I needed to use the facilities yet again. After washing and drying my hands, I noticed something. MY ENGAGEMENT RING WAS MISSING!!!!! Immediately my stomach started cramping again (of course) and I started to think about where it could have gone. I suddenly remembered that I used the restroom there earlier. I started digging out the paper towels in the trash can and when I looked in.....there was my ring. *Whew* I've lost so much weight that it doesn't want to stay on my finger any more. I'm at least size and a quarter smaller in my finger. I don't know how much more it will go down before we're married. So now....I'm wearing it on my middle finger. God....I was so scared. This ring is priceless to me. It was made in the '20s and they stopped cutting diamonds like this (mine cut) in the 50s.
On a side note: Ma wanted to see me because she'd just returned from Italy and had gotten me something. She bought me an embroidered handkerchief. It has some flowers on it....some pink, some blue...and a bright white Q in the middle. (That will be my initial once married to Tim.) Wasn't that thoughtful? I was so touched that she thought of me while on vacation in Italy.
