I jumped on the LCD bandwagon last night!!!

My local Compusa got this monitor in and I couldn't resist

Haven't gotten to game with it...but there was some contention whether it was a true 16 ms panel or not. Any way for Joe Consumer to test that? Some of the guys in the store thought it was 16ms falling, 4 ms rising.

Monitor is gorgeous though...looking forward to trying it out for the next few days.

Thanks a sweet monitor dude. And I'm really picky too. 😉

From the specs it looks like it is 16ms total time (rise and fall).

Yeah tell us how much so we can tell you how badly you got burned on your impulse buy.

EDIT: NM, found it.

$799.97 - $100MIR = $699.97

I personally would have gone for this one @ $750 shipped.

Enjoy your purchase.

Looks like you found the deal before I could reply. I got this instead of the Dell 2001FP because Dell charges tax in Missouri (where I unfortunately live). So I couldn't have gone for less than $800 for it. This one cost me $760 (after rebate) with tax. Plus no having to ship it back if it had dead pixels 🙂

Also I didn't want a 1600x1200 native res monitor because I don't expect to be able to run games at that res (especially HL2 and D3).

Yeah I'm another spoiled Oregonian w/o sales tax. Enjoy the LCD; it has a really thin bezel.

The monitor looks good. Please let us know about gaming and watching DVD's.

Also, are you going to use the digital or analog inputs on it?

right now analog because I don't have a DVI cable...need to find a place with cheap DVI cables.

Compusa only had a 10 foot DVI cable and they wanted 80 bucks for it!

wow DVI cables are expensive...maybe I need to go to ebay or FS/FT

does it matter whether you get dual or single link for LCD monitors?

wow, the cables didn't even come with the friggin monitor? sounds like monitors are trying to go the way of the printer (not including cables)

I got all sorts of cables when I bought my Dell LCD monitors.

yeah its becoming more and more common to only get VGA cables.
I think they're just trying desperately to try to make LCDs cheaper...less in the box = lower prices
