I decided to stop doing this solo and put my blocks towards the noble goal of passing /. and the DPCs. Every little bit helps 🙂

I have a modest herd, it would be bigger if my boss would get a clue...

BTW, my "herd" consists of two steers (ugh 😱) and are eventually destined for a grill at MacDonalds; hope to go with a Cumine/Duron O'C duet soon.

Wellcky: I tried connecting to that IRC server, but it keeps timing out. Is it down right now? (I'm mostly on EFnet or DALnet).

Joe O: Thanks for the tip on OGR, luckily I caught that back when the project started so I didn't lose too much cracking time.

Russ: Any idea how I can convince my boss that installing a dnet client won't kill a computer? I tried reasoning that it doesn't interfere with any normal operations if you set it a low priority level, and the heat increase from the high cpu usage was negligible if you have good cooling. He seems to equate it with cracking (the script-kiddie kind) 🙁.

You could also mention that the contest is sponsored by the company (RSA) that developed the encryption that we're trying to crack. That always opens eyes.
