I did a mini-upgrade to my computer last night. I switched the parts out of my HAF 932 case into my new HAF X. I upgraded my psu from the wired Corsair 850W to the modular 850W model. I also swapped out my 2 GTX 260s for my new GTX 460. I have the second one coming from Ewiz this Friday.

I started overclocking the GTX 460 this morning. MSI Afterburner and Kumbustor are great programs. So far I have the card running at 800/1600/3800 (effective). The card comes oc'd from MSI at 725/1451/3600 (effective). I have not bumped the voltage at all. The amazing part is the temps. Prior to oc'ing idle was 32c and load was 55c. After oc'ing idle is 32c and load is 58c. The load temps were achieved by using MSI Kumbustor stability test. Kumbustor is similar to Furmark. During the test, the gpu was at 99 percent load.

This is one of the better upgrades I have done in a while! My GTX 260s ran hotter than Haites! My whole computer is probably happier right now with 40 percent less heat coming from the gpus.

I can only imagine when I get my second one and I oc them to 850-900! One of the review sites oc'd it to 875 without a voltage bump. Now I need to play some games!

Yeah the 460's love to be overclocked it seems. I was able to obtain 900 with 1.05v. That cyclone cooler really is a beast, effective and quiet. My load temps hit 65c in kombuster and 75c with OCCT at 1080p res and level 8 shaders. with 30c ambients.

Ordered myself a new comp now, with a Gainward gtx460 GLH at 800mhz core out the box.
Really looking forward to building this rig and testing out the stuff we`ve discussed on this forum for some time!

Installed my 2 MSI 460GTX Cyclones last night. Couldn't find my SLI bridge from any of the motherboards I have bought over the years. Ordered one today but it will take a few days.

Does anyone think the performance hit will be big?

Anyway I just installed Steam and downloaded some games. Can't wait to get home and try something on it. Then I'll begin the overclocking and tweaking process.

That cooler is great (I own a card with the same cooler) and it really works like a champ, even in my cramped space due to my multi GPU configuration, runs cool, the issue is that it dumps heat inside of your PC case, so make sure you have nice ventilation.
