also, when i shut down, i no longer can do:
"Windows key
u
u"

How do i get that back as well?

THX!

In response to your first question, download TweakUI for Windows XP from Microsoft's website. There should be an option there to automatically login as a specific user.

have you ran windows update since you installed it?
There is a .net SP1 (i think that's what it is called, just look for .net updates) and once you install that it doesn't bring up the login screen anymore.

I just went through this a month ago or less.

TweakUI is not needed. You need to install the service pack for .Net. It is a critical update, and will be downloaded if you have AU enabled. Otherwise go to windowsupdate and install it.

Thanks, I didn't realize that. Does the service pack remove the ASP.NET user?

You don't need TweakUI.

Start>Run>control userpasswords2

Select which account you want to always log in as, uncheck the "Users must enter a suer name and password to use this computer", click Apply, then type in your password twice when the window comes up.

Done.
