I wish I could blame the wife, but alas, I cannot. I hit a high curb at low speed in a drive through today. The sound was awful, just awful. Should be around $200 to get fixed.

I don't hit curbs. =) lol That sucks. I would have to get that fixed too. You should look into doing it yourself. It isn't very hard and it will save you a bundle

Man, that sucks. I'd be pissed too. But look at the bright side, it could be worse. At least with yours, you can just get another wheel (worst case scenario) and you're good as new.

It's fixable. So I am not too worried anymore.

Doing it myself? Looks like more work than I am capable of doing in my garage. I am sure the entire wheel will have to be repainted.

I nailed the front fascia of my Viper on a driveway the very first night I had it. Driving around in the dark, went to turn around in a parking lot & smacked it pretty good. At the time I was fairly convinced I'd hurt it but I couldn't see any real damage, but after looking at it in daylight it's got a nice crack on the lowest part (not mine, but the lower left of the lowest part of the front is where I cracked it):

You essentially have to have your head under the car to see it, but it pretty much makes me sick every time I think about it. Since I have no real confidence yet that I won't do it again to a new one I'm going to have it repaired and just leave it for now. Nobody will notice it but I will always know it's there.

I, too, found some damage under my front fascia from when I hit a kid on a bike. I thought my license plate cover took the entire brunt of the hit, but I was installing a new lower grill on my car last week and discovered a mess. I, and anyone who reads this post, are the only people that know about the damage

finally did that recently after much street parking

pretty much the worst sound ever because you know what's happened and it's too late to stop

that's dealer price right? how much was the set in the first place?

I know the OEM wheels for my car go for MAYBE $400 a set of 4 when they should be about that much PER wheel. Sucks.

I have never hit a curb since I owned the car, there were some close calls but no hits, the previous owner did some curbing, I am kinda annoyed about that but oh well.

That is dealer price. I found another Ford Racing supplier that can get me the wheel for just over $200, but shipping into Canada and customs would kill me when I can get a good as new repair for $200 or under.

I paid $800 for the set with unused Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. 285/40/18 rear and 255/45/18 up front. That was a steal itself.

On my first car that had steel wheels and cheapy plastic covers I never grazed a curb, ever.

Next car had aluminum wheels (98 Camaro). Scrubbed a curb within my first month when parallel parking. D'oh! Good thing (in a kind of twisted way) was the previous owner hadn't been careful with the car, so the curb rash blended right in with the rest of the rash once a little dirt got in the scrapes :p Though it always bugged me that I had done that.

Found a place that will pick up and drop off for $167. Another place for $150, but pick up and drop off are up to me. Like 20 minutes one way, I don't mind paying the extra $17 to do nothing
