I was trying to get the speed meter to work for my BellSouth fast access account. The tech person suggested that I run the following and now IE is dead and Outlook says the text formatting command is not available. Did I miss a file?

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll

And no I didn?t backup my registry. System restore is also down.
What?s my easiest option?

There are some really knowlegeable people here in regards to the XP OS, but I am not one of them.

I'm pretty certain a repair install would fix you up. You would have to install any updates or Service Packs afterwards. All your programs and data would remain. If your XP CD does not contain SP2, you could do a slipstream of it and be that much further ahead.

I can provide more details if you need them.

All I can offer.

Wait it out if you can. I'm certain someone here can help you out with this if you can wait a while.

Good luck! 🙂
