I've been debating on ati/nV for the new generation... and i finaly figured out something to compare it with. HL2 and D3. Has anybody seen any benchmarks on these games? Has the performance increased on the nvidia cards?

You know, they say there are no dumb questions, but this one...

Neither game is out yet. Best you can do is recent benches of the leaked HL2 alpha at digit-life. The 6800s actually perform quite well; the 5950U still loses to the 9600Pro.

Edit: interestingly, the benches seem to have changed in the last month. The ATI cards all lost a few percent, and the NVIDIA cards gained noticeably. The 5900U is now about as fast as a 9600XT, and the 5950U actually beats the 9800NP. However, these results are still from a very early version of the game, and the final game may differ significantly in terms of performance.

I haven't seen any benchies from the fully developed game titles you refer to, and the alphas I've seen scores from are likely to provide only a partial idea as to performance.

Can't benchmark a game that isn't released...

i understand they arent out yet and the final release will peform much better. (look at farcry) But i think it gives an idea of what the general performance would be. Agreed?

According to that website the 6800 > x800 in hl2. Think any of this will change on final release and new drivers?
