I think we need two rational political parties. And the Republicans have abdicated their responsibility as a rational opposition party that stands for real idea; an opposition party which our democracy is dependent on. I believe only a major political loss will cause the beneficial upheaval and subsequent shift from the "fringe crazy" the party is currently.

Democrats are no better. Both sides are irrational, on top of both sides biggest supporters are blinded by the best course of action so certain without a doubt their party is right.

I personally hope for all that is Holy that Romney wins.

Not because I am supporting him, not because I am against Obama, not because I give a damn with an election with 2 horrible candidates and parties involved.

But because, and only because, this forum would EXPLODE with a lot of amusing posts for months to come after the election to give me entertainment.

A big loss also wont change anything for the Republicans. All they will do is bide their time until people get sick of the horrible democrats and forget about horrible republicans, then swoop in with a "change/hope" presidential candidate and sweep the nation again. Then Democrats will sit back and wait.

Its an endless circle.

I honestly hope Romney loses so badly that it will go down in history as the most crushing defeat in history. Only then will Republicans be forced to listen to the millions of minority conservatives, paleo conservatives, female conservatives, non Christian conservatives, libertarian conservatives, etc.

So then we will have one rational party, I guess that is a good start :D

The lie that keeps on spinning.

What lie? Both parties are just as bad. Not realizing that, shows you have been blinded by some lies whatever party you currently follow has spoken.

I feel bad for people who so dedicationly support 1 candidate or another because they "sound better". However they could be the worse candidate.

As I have said before. Romney has not proven himself. Maybe being the amazing liar and flip flopping speaker of a republican he is, may actually be the one thing that helps this country. Then again it could be the final tipping point of an already uneasy country.

But no, please go on believeing a certain party is better, because you only focus on one side of the fence.

Does anyone here honestly believe that those promises Obama made 4 years ago are held up just because he miscalculated how long it would take to fulfill them all?

If he wins another term, and doesn't keep his promises (including adding all those jobs), what will be the next action?

Democrats are no better.

It's a pity this popular refrain isn't supported by the facts over these last many years.

Right now the GOP has cornered the market on bat shit crazy. If you can't bring yourself to acknowledge that, fine, but don't expect many to take you seriously.

Its not switching topics. It showing the liberals finding racism everywhere is not restricted to one crazy person.
Are we talking about liberals or Democrats? Wow, you can find a few examples of fringe liberals who maybe see racism where it might not exist. The Republican party as a whole have adopted insane platforms. Not just questionable platforms. Full blown insane platforms. Talk to me when the Democrats as a whole adopt a completely batshit insane platform.

Liberals want conservatives to lose - news at 11.

It's not about wanting conservatives to lose. What I find incredible is that majority of people who vote Republican actually feel that the Republicans represent their interests. The US deserves a 2nd political party that can sharpen the debate. I'm not even sure what the Republicans stand for anymore. It seems that their last few campaigns are all calibrated to try to win (Bush, Romney, McCain), by being mendacious. Republicans have even so lost the battle of ideas, they are running a candidate who is scared to state them and are left to openly run a strategy of voter suppression.

I have a general frustration and disillusionment with the Democratic Party. But, my greater fear is what harm will come if a Republican is left to choose any more Supreme Court Justices.

Fine. Stay blinded. I am not saying the republican CURRENT candidate is not bat crazy. However Obama has spoke/posted just as many lies if not more because of him being in the light, as the actual president, longer than Romney.

It is people like you who should not be taken seriously keeping your mind closed to only 1 side.

The REALLY crazy ones are Phokus or however you spell it and cyber. They defend EVERY action their party does as if God did it itself, and spin it in such a light that if you dont just slightly research it you would agree. I wanna see those 2 debate for real. Webcam show go.

I think a lot of people confuse "neither party is perfect" with "they're both exactly as bad". Think about it, how likely does it sound that the Democratic and Republican parties are IDENTICALLY bad? Is it really less reasonable to say one of the two is better? In the vast majority of cases where you're presented with two options, it is indeed possible to pick one as being better. I don't see why politics should be any different.

At least Republican's don't think Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches are an example of racism

So find me a national democratic leader who believes peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches are an example of racism. This is the kind of dumbfuckery the Republican party is good at.

That one. The one you just said right there.

That isn't a lie. Do some research. REAL research. Not media, not news. But yoru own research. Both parties are just as bad. I will agree republican's candidate is a madman. But that doesnt necessarily make the party or even himself a worse party. Because The devil himself can look suave and smile to the face of his prey.

But thank you guys for proving my point on people being blinded to one side.
