i hooked my dvd player and ps2 up and get audio but no video?

so i hooked my dvd player up to my tv in my room, and my ps3 to the one in my living room, i get audio out of them but no video, i checked the connections, and installation pamphlets and i cant figure out whats wrong, so i bought brand new avi and hdmi cords for both and nothing seems to work....please brilliant members of anandtech help me!
 
Can you provide some model numbers for your DVD player and TV? Do you know what kind of connection(s) you are using between the two?
