It's pretty easy actually.

My dad has done it twice.

Once the nail gun messed up and fired two nails and the second just bounced off the first one and cut his hand.

Also he had one that hit a knot in a piece of wood and the nail bent outward and went into his thumb. Pretty damn hard knot for a nail to do that.

If you do a lot of carpentry work like my dad and I did then it's more likely to happen.

What I don't understand is how people cut their legs with a handheld rotary saw because they decided that cutting a piece of wood while holding it against your leg was a good idea..

Not too bright, are you? Starting a second account after getting banned is not a good idea. See you in a month.

I got shot by someone elses Bosch Air Nailer this year with a 3.5 inch framing nail, it went right through my middle finger. Those things have some power, I must have been standing 5 feet away, didnt even feel it go in. First sign I had of anything wrong was everyone staring at my hand, I look down and there is a nail going in one side (just above the knuckle) and out the other. It didnt hurt until the doctors started pulling it out. Ohh and that small barbed part that is there to keep them in a "magazine" of nails... yeah that hurts like hell coming out.

...did it go in lengthwise or side to side? I'm wondering why they didn't cut the nail if there was a big barb in the way....unless it was already inside your finger.

It went in ontop my hand at about a 45 degree to the horizontal and was sticking out about 1/4-1/2 inch.. the barb is higher up than that and wasnt exposed.

try stapling your hand with a 2 1/2 inch stapler to a table. I did that while building a residential exterior door. It didnt hurt until they pulled it out. I guess i was in shock. It hurt like hell then though.

If you read the original post, you'd see it was a hammer stapler.....swing it like a hammer, and make sure your digits are out of the way. 😉
