I hit a car.

How much would labor cost to repaint a front bumper, reinstall a headlight, and pop out/repaint a front passenger fender?

Total for parts is about 350-400, but the labor is what I'm interested in.

Please help, ATOT!

EDIT: I have pics, but they're on a disposeable, so I'll have to get them developed tomorrow.

I would guess another 700-900 for labor in a professional shop.

Dont forget to add 10% for "consumables" 😀

Hopefully I'll have to throw out the couple grand answer....hopefully...

I did give you a real answer. Yes, shops do charge a surcharge for consumables such as tape, paper, thinner, environmental fees etc.

Very rarely do the pop out a panel because it is usually cheaper to just replace and paint it. No accident I have ever seen has had a panel just been popped out.

iamwiz gave you a correct estimate. Unfortunately, body shops can easily milk you for money. Repaint a bumper? Are you sure there's no other damage to it? Bodyshop will have to replace it, if the elastic crap inside it was deformed, etc.

I hate to break it to you, but a couple of grand sounds like a correct estimate.

Yea, but raised insurance rates for a 16 year old? I'm paying through the nose as is.

you will pay. oh yes, you will pay. $2k is reasonable for the shop fee as well.

how'd you hit it anyhow?

Bumper, Fender... replace repaint, could be damage under the hood ?

getting my hood replaced from a hit and run cost the insurance like 14xx.xx although it's a lex. parts were like 600-700 rest was labor.

go to a place that will do it for cash....then it will be $800.00, otherwise it will be a couple grand. Buy the light your self and install it.

What makes you think the person whose car got hit wants him to replace the lights ?

I wanted to do it myself, and have her rent, but she won't have any of it.

ROFL ?
What makes you think she's gonna trust a 16 year old to do the work ?
You're obviously a dumbass if you think she'll let you touch her car instead of a reputable shop. Also if it's going through insurance, they'll want a licensed body shop to do the work.

You're her bitch. You hit her car. Looks to be your fault.
Get the lube ready

And neither would I. C'mon, a 20 year old who cannot control his vehicle wants to install parts on my vehicle? No freakin' way. Do you know how much damage was done that iws not visible? Who knows if the accident stripped a wire slightly, but enough to cause a short.
